Photo Diary: Thanksgiving in Atlanta

Just a few snapshots of my Thanksgiving weekend in Atlanta including the Delta Skylounge (Atlanta is brought to you by Coke), raking more leaves than I've ever seen before with Mark, browsing old photos of my mom, visiting the High Museum and seeing holiday lights at the Botanic Gardens. I'm so lucky to have a family that always gets together even though we are scattered across the US.

I'm always on a mission to find the cutest bras that can handle actual boobs because no matter how much I love lingerie, it doesn't always mix with a full C. These three options each suit my requirements for a bra: support and something fun. Made by Nikki's Knockout Underwire Racer Bra has enough tough edge to make you feel like a little badass even when it is completely covered. I just bought La Perla's Sensual Underwire and couldn't be happier. Everything you've heard about La Perla being amazing is true. Lastly, Free People's Cheeky Lace Bra comes in no fewer than 10 fun colors. There's nothing better than knowing you have something fun going on underneath a season-worth of layers.

Pioneer Woman

I can't help but be completely drawn to this image by Kalle Gustafsson for Marie Claire's October issue that I discovered via StyleMint's excellent Tumblr. Horses aren't my thing, but side braids, cowboy hats, nubby sweaters and the great outdoors sure are. I'm thinking of going for the citi-fied version of the look with this Madewell Trailrider Poncho.

Country Casual

This past weekend, my lovely friend Elissa got married to her longtime boyfriend Kevin. They had the most charming wedding in Elissa's brother's backyard in Chester, Pennsylvania. Everything was just perfect down to the local wildflowers lining the tables. And isn't Instagram perfect for weddings?

Rome Photo Diary

It's safe to say that in the five days I spent in Rome, I saw nearly all of the city's famous, historic, and beautiful sights. These photos are mainly from my trip to St. Peter's, the picnic Maddie and I took on the Aventine, and the Colosseum. Having never been to Rome before, I particularly enjoyed the amazing art that you can see largely for free all around the city. There's something to be said for being able to just walk into a church and enjoy some Carvaggio before heading to apertivo.

Rome Photo Diary: Gelato

 

I don't want to say that eating tons of gelato was the best part about visiting Rome because it wasn't, but it was pretty great. The oldest gelateria in Rome, Giolitti (pictured second), tops their already giant cone with whipped cream. I got almond and chocolate and it was decadent and delicious. At the classic Sicilian gelateria Origini (pictured third from the top) I got banana and vanilla with flecks of chocolate and nuts. It was absolutely delicious, but not my absolute favorite. That honor went to Gelateria Del Teatro where I got salvia e lampone (sage and raspberry) and the most intense chocolate I've ever tasted. The raspberry sage combo was incredible and definitely something I'll be searching for here in NYC.

On the one day I didn't get an afternoon gelato I tried a granita from Gran Caffè Tazza d’Oro (pictured second from bottom) which was amazing, but gave me a bit of a tummy ache from all of the caffeine and creme. As for the best part of visiting Rome? Hanging out with my BFF Maddie who moved there in January. To read up on more great things to do in Rome, visit the site she's been working on YoungInRome.com.

Proenza Schouler Pre-Spring 2011 Jewelry

I (with every fashion lover) am dying over the pre-spring jewelry that Proenza released yesterday. These are my favorite pieces of the small collection. I'm planning on buying the blue PMI bracelet, which isn't bad at $150, and DIYing the rest.

Chanel 2011 Cruise Nails It

Chanel Beauty designer Peter Phillips created a new shade of powder blue for Chanel's 2011 Cruise collection, which debuted in St. Tropez yesterday. This could definitely be the new Jade, although I have a feeling the nail polish sell-out buzz might have passed. That said, it will be mine.
