Trend: For the Birds

For as much as I love leopard print, snake print doesn't move me. I'll be skipping over that Fall 2011 trend and heading straight for feather motifs. I like that the different bird prints feel fresh and organic while maintaining that neutral status that leopard print has fought so hard to claim. I particularly like how Mulberry has paired the print with a classic '60s shaped dress and how Rag & Bone has trimmed the mixed feathers with a modern jet black cuff. Elizabeth & James' take on the burgeoning trend is typically crunchy, but let's not forget that we're dealing with feathers here.

I'm feeling a dark wool fedora for winter. I know I love Pendleton's Indy Hat (I bought a tan one last year on eBay) and although the extra ounce of style is nice in Stine Goya and Rag & Bone's versions, I'm not sure they're worth three times the price.

I have been coveting the Stine Goya Legend Hat for a while though...

Rag & Bone Fall 2010

Posting has gotten very slow lately mostly because of the (still new) job and because my personal photographer started to charge too much. That said, there are tons of things I'm wanting to share and write about including this Rag & Bone Fall 2010 collection. Now that 2/3 of summer has passed, I officially feel that I suck at summer dressing. My exceptionally fair skin mandates that I cover up a bit and my temperature control issues beg for me to keep it cool, resulting in a confusing mess of dresses, bagginess, and cutoffs. I cannot wait until I get to attempt to layer this expertly with new colors, textures, and patterns. Sadly we always want what we can't have including, but not limited to: perfect weather and this entire collection.
