World AIDS Day 2010 is all about raising awareness to tackle HIV prejudice and help stop the disease spreading. We are proud to present this 5-minute film, courtesy of i-D's Menswear Editor Elgar Johnson and filmmaker George Harvey. The idea is simple: twelve models, of varying ages and nationalities, talking about AIDS. Without being briefed, each talks candidly about what AIDS means to them and what we can do to raise awareness.



All models wear Emporio Armani (RED, Converse (RED) and GAP (RED).

Elite London boys get the cover of Models.com

 

The new Models.com cover is devoted to the Elite London boys! New York-based photographer Samantha West shot Austin Myers, Egor, Felix Branch, Joshua Bell, Nick Alexander, and Tom Fonteyn exclusively for Models.com in an editorial honouring the Elite London men's board.


The shoot, which was styled by Morgan Hamada Ruiz, features London-based designer James Long's spring/summer 2011 collection, as well as elements from his autumn/winter 2010 collection. Congratulations to the boys - and special thanks to our friends at Models.com!

SNOW ANGELS

   If these shots don’t put a smile on your face we’re not sure what will!  When presented with a snow day here at Elite what do we do...moan about the lack of transport...complain about the cold? Nope we see the perfect opportunity for an impromptu photo shoot what else!?

We roped in two gorgeous elite boys to indulge us with this one and Oscar and Luiz just happened to passing through the agency. For born and bred Swede Oscar this is pretty standard but for Luiz who joins us from Brazil this is a whole new experience... we hope these put a smile on your face and cheer up any miserable snow days out there!

Botkier Spring Summer 2011 Lookbook

I'm probably a bit biased, but I'm in love with the Botkier Spring Summer 2011 collection. The bags look chicer than ever--standout favorites are the white zippered Howard satchel (the leather looks pristine) and the white croc Charlotte clutch--and the tooled leather shoes are to die for, the perfect mix of vintage and modern that I can't resist. This lookbook also goes to show just how important good styling is. Everything looks cohesive, chic, and aspirational, but accessible. Nicely done!

Rory and Jack go backwards for Pixie Lott

Following in the footsteps of Tony Ward, Tyson Beckford and everyone from George Michael's 'Freedom' video, Rory Torrens and Jack Rogers have gone and landed themselves a couple of music video cameos. The lucky lady who got to schmooze with les boys - and get rather close with Rory - is of course one Pixie Lott, pop princess par excellence. The Elite London boys look perfectly delectable in the video, which was released today and is all backwards. Good thing Rory and Jack look good from all angles.

Yes we could have endless fun turning River’s name into amusing blog titles but we are far too busy staring at these breathtaking images taken from the latest issue of client magazine. Not only did our boy nab the cover (yes there are 2 versions but who wouldn’t pick this one?) but he also smoulders his way into this captivating editorial, black and white simplicity at its best...

The ever-so amazing Denisa Dvorakova looks saucy on the pages of the new Flair Italia, as seen through the lens of Gianluca Fontana. She's one hard-working lady, our Denisa -  this season alone the Praguian beauty has shot covers for Vogue Espana and Tiger as well as campaigns for Francesco Scognamiglio, Via Spiga and Pantene.

Newtown Creek Nature Walk

My Aunty Niff always gives the best advice on the coolest most interesting places to visit in New York. Twenty-plus years of living here has given her an edge up on the competition. Now that she lives in Urbana-Champaign I don't get to visit them with her as frequently, but enjoying and sharing her favorite places in the city still feels very special to me.

It was in that spirit that I took Mark to find the Newtown Creek Nature Walk. The path is sandwiched between Newtown Creek, perhaps the most polluted waterway in all of the US, and a treatment plant. It wraps around a section of the creek, with planted native plants and plaques explaining the history of the land from Indian origins. Late fall probably wasn't the best time to visit as the greenery wasn't exactly green, but it was completely serene, leading me to believe we had found our very own secret garden (with city views). I'll definitely be back with a picnic in spring.

If you're interested, the entrance is at the far eastern end of Paidge Avenue in Greenpoint. Look for the giant cement fence.

 Thanks for the phrase Models.com...we couldn’t think of any other way to describe this fierce blonde! Welcome to London Madelene (wish you hadn’t brought the weather with you!)...

We’ve had the gorgeous Madelene in town for the last couple of weeks and we can safely say this girls feet have not touched the ground...well with a face and body like that who’s surprised!
